Marion D. Sugg, age 79, of Bogard, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at the VA Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

Mr. Sugg was born August 30, 1919, near Bogard, Missouri, the son of Clyde David and Minnie Enyart Sugg.

He served in the United States Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater.

He graduated in 1947 from Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Missouri. He received his M.A. from the University of Missouri, Kansas City; and attended graduate schools at Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg; Missouri University, Columbia; and Colorado State University, Greeley.

He was Superintendent of Schools at Bogard, Missouri, for 33 years. He also served in an administrative capacity for two years in the Carrollton School District following the annexation of Bogard School to Carrollton. Marion coached for 22 years creating a winning tradition at Bogard High School. He also farmed throughout his life on the family farm west of Bogard.

Mr. Sugg served on the Board of Directors of Bank 21 of Carrollton. He was a fifty-year member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of the Bogard Lions Club. Also he was a member of the VFW Post #1773; the Missouri State Teachers' Association; the Missouri Association of School Administrators; the Carrollton Country Club; the Carroll County Historical Society; and had served as Democrat Committeeman of Van Horn Township.

In 1979 he was inducted into the Missouri Valley College Athletic Hall of Fame and he was the first inductee into the Constitution-Tribune-KMZU Athletic Hall of Fame.

On July 19, 1944, he was married to Norma Lee Buzard.
