Anthony J. Abbate, 78, of Reynoldsburg, passed Monday, April 9, 2001 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Served as a Staff Sergeant in the Army during WW II. Was president of the Subway Surface Supervisors Union of New York City. Survived by wife, Sandra; children, Mary Joyce and Ronald and Raymond; step-children, Richard, Kimberly and Kelli and Lisa; also 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday April 17, 2001, 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1061 W. Waggoner Rd., Reynoldsburg. Fr. Dan Ochs, Celebrant. Family will receive friends Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., COTNER FUNERAL HOME, 7369 E. Main St., Reynoldsburg. Interment Blendon Township Cemetery, Westerville. Vigil service Monday 8:30 p.m.
