HIGDON, CHARLOTTE LOUISE SMITH, 62, of Fairdale, was born June 14, 1946 in Fairdale, KY, and returned to her Heavenly Father February 10, 2009. Mrs. Higdon was a Licensed Practical Nurse and a member of Fairdale United Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Lee Smith. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Roger Higdon (Susan), Brian Higdon (Angela) and Angela Tinsley; mother, Elna England Smith; sisters, Ina Cook, Sharon Hogue (Leonard), Sue Wayne and Rita Brown (Larry); brothers, David Smith (Pat), Donald Smith (Paula) and Darrel Smith (Peggy); and seven grandchildren, Derek, Bradford, Travis, Hunter, MaRyah, Amber and Jason. Funeral service will be held noon Monday at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Road), with interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects 4-8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday at Schoppenhorst. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hosparus.
