Funeral services for Jasper K. Altis were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 1988 in the Craig-Hurt-Bradley Funeral Chapel with Rev. Edwin Cline officiating. Soft organ music was rendered throughout the service. Pallbearers were Dolen Hopkins, Don Hopkins, James Altis, Larry Nichols, Paul Altis and Jim Brotherton. His wife, Lorene Altis, addressed family and friends with a loving eulogy at the conclusion of the services. Ray St. Ledger played "Taps" on trumpet at the cemetery. Burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery under direction of Craig-Hurtt-Bradley.

Jasper K. Altis, son of the late Robert and Virginia (Hilbert) Altis was born October 18, 1918 in Texas County, Missouri and departed this life August 3, 1988 in the Humana Hospital Kansas City, Missouri following an extended illness. He was 69 years 9 months and 15 days of age.

Jasper married Lorene Lathrom in December 1938. One son was born to this union.

Mr. Altis served his country in the United States Marine Corps. during WWII. He was a member of the Westwood Christian Church, Westwood, Kansas, and was a charter member of the Kansas Lions Club.

He worked 30 years as service manager for the Ford and America Motor Companies. Following retirement from the motor company he worked for August Exterminators.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Lorene of the home; one son James Altis, Kansas City; one brother Robert C. Altis, Bullhead City, Arizona; his step-mother, Lula Altis, Independence; seven grandchildren; other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
