MARTINSVILLE, Aug. 15 - Funeral rites for Edward Labe Davis, 78, retired Martinsville building contractor and former member of the Town Council, who died Tuesday, were held at the home here Thursday, with interment in Oakwood Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lucy Shumate Davis; two sons, Wertie H. and Edward M. Davis; Mrs. E. L. Newman, Mrs. O. B. Hensley, Mrs. A. R. Ussery, Mrs. H. W. Churn, Jr, and Mrs. Everett Hemsley, and one brother, Bruce M. Davis, of Roanoke.
