Grover Cleveland Fritz is the son of Francis Marion Fritz, Sr., and Susanna/Susan A. Fritz (nee Barrickman).
He married Florence J. Seibel on January 24, 1925, in Castle Shannon, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. There were no children.

"Grover C. Fritz was reared and educated at Petrolia, and at an early age went to Illinois, where he was interested in oil production. He returned to Petrolia in 1911 and the following year removed to Karns City, where he established his present business. Mr. Fritz owns and operates the Fritz Bowling and Billiard Hall, and in 1924 erected his modern business block on the site of the original structure, which was destroyed by fire in 1923. He also carries a complete line of confections and soft drinks. In 1925 Mr. Fritz was united in marriage with Miss Florence Seibel, the daughter of John and Maria (Fisher) Seibel, of Castle Shannon, Pennsylvania. During World War I Mr. Fritz volunteered for service in April, 1918, and was sent to Camp Humphreys, Virginia, where he was assigned to the Fifth Division. He was sent to France with the Seventh Engineers of that division and served in many important engagements of the war, including St. Michiel and the Argonne. Mr. Fritz received two citations for distinguished service in action at Bruieller and Bois de Rapper. He was discharged at Camp Dix, New Jersey, August 5, 1919. Mr. Fritz is a Republican, a member of the Methodist Church, and belongs to the Independent Order of Odd Fellows."

Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
