Jefferson Gene Bell
Services were held Wednesday afternoon of this week at the Anderson Funeral home for Jefferson Gene Bell of Eugene, a former Hood River resident who passed away at The Dalles on June 28. The Rev. Walter I. Watson officiated and internment was at Idlewilde cemetery.
Jefferson Gene Bell was born on April 16, 1894, in North Carolina. A lumberman and logging contractor, he lived in Hood River valley for about 20 years before moving away. He was a member of the Eagles lodge.
Survivors include: Sons, Delmer, Jefferson, Jr., and Lloyd, all of Portland, Lester and Darrell, both of Stevenson, Wn., and Ted of Lyle, Wn.; and a daughter, Lova Nadine Broughton, Capitola, Cal.
