Franklin C. Frost, Sr.

A Memorial Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at Gridley-Biggs Cemetery for Franklin C. Frost Sr., 75 of Gridley, California. He passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Enloe Medical Center in Chico of natural causes.

He was born December 10, 1932 in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was a long time resident of Gridley having owned and operated the A & W Restaurant. He was a former Gridley Police Officer and Fireman and was a volunteer fireman for 35 years. He was also a long time employee of Tucker Chevrolet and Gridley Growers. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II and was stationed in the Philippines. Frank was a 40 year member of the Loyal Order of Moose Gridley, No. 1594 having served as past Governor for 2 terms. Frank was a square dance caller for several local clubs and he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister, Nancy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Peggy Frost of Gridley, California; 3 sons: Frank Frost Jr. of Sutter, CA, David Frost of Biggs, CA and James Frost of Marysville, CA; 2 daughters: Susie Armstrong of Marysville, CA and Mary Lou Long of Brownsvalley, CA; 1 step son, Travis Rice of Gridley, CA and 1 step-daughter, Vickie Gideon of Portland, OR. He is also survived by 1 sister, Frances Gresham of Knoxville, Tennessee; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pastor Ed Coker of the United Methodist Church in Gridley will officiate at the services.

Internment will be held at Gridley-Biggs Cemetery.
Contributions to the Moose Haven are suggested by the family.

Arrangements are entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel.
