Graduated from US Naval Academy in the class of 1953. Desihated Naval Aviator after flight training at Pensacola. Rose rapidly through a succession of squadrons th flag rank and served as Chief of the Bureau of Aeronautics, which became the Bureau of Weapons, and then the Naval Air Systems command. He was a great classmate, and is missed by us all.
He awarded the Silver Star for valor as commanding officer of Attack Squadron 56 leading a strike on Haiphong harbor on March 13 1968; and Navy Distinguished service Medal for achievement while serving as Commander, Naval Air Systems Command from April 1980 through July, 1983.
