Anna M. Bomberger, 88, of Palmyra, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2009, in the Lebanon Valley Home of the United Church of Christ, Annville. Born in Lebanon on July 1, 1920, she was the daughter of the late William and Anna Ruhl Blessing. She is survived by husband George Bomberger, whom she married in 1989. She was a lifelong member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Lebanon, where she was a Sunday school teacher to the young children. She was a housewife, and also worked for the No-Mend Knitting Mill in Lebanon, and Weaver's Garment Factory in Cleona. During World War II, she worked at the Olmsted Air Force Base in Middletown, helping to refurbish bomber airplanes. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth S. Wolfe Sr., in 1986; brothers Ralph, Albert, Ernest, Richard, William; and sisters Violet and Bertha. She enjoyed being with her family and friends, and loved to entertain guests in her home. She also enjoyed the hobby of arts and crafts, having learned to paint and make pottery along with her lifelong girlfriends, who met once a month for their gathering, many of whom have preceded her in death. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, George. Surviving in addition to her husband, are two sons, Brian Wolfe, husband of Carolyn Wolfe of Ephrata, and Kenneth S. Wolfe Jr., husband of Shirley Little of Palmyra; two grandchildren, Dawn Bellman, wife of Paul Bellman, and Wendi Heckard, wife of Jim Heckard; step-daughter Joan Yoder, wife of Jim Yoder of Dauphin; stepson Robert Bomberger, husband of Mary Bomberger of Harrisburg; sister Catherine Mazzoni, wife of Bob Mazzoni of Cornwall; numerous nieces and nephews from her large extended family. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 600 S. 12th St., Lebanon, with a viewing beginning on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the church. Interment will be made in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 3544 N.
