Mrs. Holmes, born in Dodge County, had lived most of her life in Hawkinsville. She was employed at Royal Care Retirement Center and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.
Survivors are her husband, Ernest F. Holmes, Sr., of Hawkinsville; children, Patricia H. Rhodes, Susan (Gary) Giles, Ernest F. Holmes, Jr., and Bruce F. Holmes, all of Hawkinsville; sisters, Bertie Rowland of Cochran and Betty Jean Floyd of Dublin; grandchildren, Heather Johnson, Heath Parks, Jade Reynolds, Tiffany Giles, Hope Crozier, and Josh Holmes; three great grandchildren.
The family is at 69 Woodland Trail, Hawkinsville and will greet friends from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. Tuesday at Mathis Funeral Home in Cochran.+
