Edith Vincell Barton, 79, of Maypearl, passed away Saturday evening, June 15, 2002, in Dallas. She was born on June 4, 1923, in Midlothian, Texas to George Floyd and Laura Louise Vincell. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Maypearl. She married Alvin Waine Barton on Oct. 15, 1940, in Ellis County. He preceded her in death in 1996 after 55 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and three sisters.
She is survived by two sons, Alvin Barton and his wife Melanie, and Charles Barton; four grandchildren, Todd, Jason, Sarah and Caleb Barton; two great-grandchildren, Sloan and Alexis Barton, all of Maypearl; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2002, at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Ray Bratcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Maypearl Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home.
