Frank D. Nagy, 91, of Monroe died at 10:36 a.m. Tuesday at Mercy Memorial Hospital, Monroe, where he had been for the last week. He had been in poor health for 8 months. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at Rupp Funeral Home, Monroe, where a prayer service will by held 4 p.m. Friday. He will lie in state at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where the Mass of the Resurrection will begin at 11 a.m. The Rev. Jack Quinlan, pastor of the church, will officiate. Entombment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe. Born August 31, 1917, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana he was the son of Frank and Irma (Szabo) Nagy. He married Anne R. Giljum September 2, 1939, in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. For 23 years he was employed at Monroe Auto Equipment Company as a tool and die leader. He then went to the Monroe Stamping Plant of the Ford Motor Company for 19 years, retiring in 1983. Frank was a member of St. John Church and was a 1935 graduate of Monroe High School. He was a member of Monroe Council #1266 Knights of Columbus and River Raisin Wood Carvers. Surviving are his wife, Anne R. Nagy of Monroe; four sons, Dale (Kathy) Nagy of Boise, Idaho, Frank Nagy of Monroe, Daniel (Patty) Nagy of Spokane, Washington and William (Jan) Nagy of Pompano Beach, Florida; two daughters, Carolyn (Dennis) Gacioch of Simsbury, CT. and Beth Ann Blevins of LaSalle; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Joseph Nagy and two sisters, Irma Nagy and Margaret Patterson. Memorials may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
