Gwendold Gail Nelson, 82, of Hayden entered into rest July 27, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.


Gwendold was born July 28, 1936, in Walnut Grove, Tennessee.


Gwendold graduated from Immokalee High School in 1955. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years, which included time during the Vietnam War. He was a watch maker for 50 years. Gwendold was a loving and caring person who was always helping other people. He had a strong sense of patriotism and would be the first to address desecration of our nation's flag. Gwendold will be greatly missed by his family and friends.


Family will receive friends Wednesday, July 31, 2019 from noon until 1 p.m. at Kelly Mill Baptist Church in Double Springs, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Kelly Mill Baptist Church Cemetery. Brother Bill Frank Wilson will officiate.


Gwendold is survived by his son; two daughters; brother, Bobby Neil Nelson; sister, Patsy Cohen; one grandchild; two nephews; one niece; and a host of great nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his wife Katherine Louise Nelson; parents, Ernest and Velma Jo Nelson; sister, Wanda Wright; son in law, Brett Barnett; and niece, Scottie Ann Nelson.
