Overcoming his disabilities, Terry became one of Newport's most loved and recognized people. I never saw Terry that he didn't have a smile and a joke, I also never saw him without some kind of LA Laker's shirt on. He was their biggest fan, sometimes traveling hundreds of miles to watch them play. He was also a huge Bob Segar fan. I remember joking with him that I wanted him to bring back a t-shirt from a concert he was planing on attending. He said "Sure" with a big smile and then informed me it would be $30 or no t-shirt.

Terry could always be found rain or shine standing on the street corner selling newspapers for the Newport Plain Talk. It was a job he held for 30 years. After his passing the "Plain Talk" gave away free newspapers in his honor for a day then retired his corner.

Terry is proceded in death by his parents, Carl & Dovie (Butler) Johnson, one sister, Zola Johnson and one brother, Gene Butler.

Terry leaves behind one sister, Evelyn Johnson, and one brother, Harry (& Lois) Butler.
