Mr. Williams held a barber license and was a member of the volunteer fire department in Windber. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
Alfred Williams flew single engine planes for the United States Air Force in World War II. He retired in 1981 from General Motors Technical Center in Warren, where he worked in the process department and did research in the radioactive lab. He was a member of the Berkley Masonic Lodge # 536 F.&A. M. and Johnstown Masonic Lodge in Pennsylvania.
Surviving were his wife of 55 years Phyllis G. Williams, his children; Richard (Susanne) Williams of Germany, Sara (Darrold) Shanks of Elizabeth, IL, Donald Williams of Berkley and Keith (Kelly) Williams ofSouth Lyon; and grandchildren, Laura, Michelle, Joelle, Ben, Emily, Maggie, Courtney, and Cole.
He was predeceased by a son, John Williams.
