HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - David "Pops" Ray "Mac" McCracken, 79, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at his home. He was born in Thomson, Ga. on September 15, 1929 to the late Bob and Marjorie Williams McCracken. Mr. McCracken retired after many years of working as a Diesel Mechanic. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by three daughters, Brenda Kent (Melton , a Vietnam Veteran), of Blythe; Susan McCracken, of Hephzibah; and Tonya Yates (Charles), of Hephzibah; two sisters, Clara Bell Smith, of S.C.; and Stella Roberts, of Hephzibah; seven grandchildren, Melton Kent, Jr. (Laura); Jessie Kent; Mellisa LeonGuerrero, of Travis Air Force Base, California; Bernard E. Meadows, Jr. "Bear"; Joseph LeonGuerrero, Jr. (Cassandra); Samantha Lord (Shane); and Joe Anthony LeonGuerrero (Iraq War Veteran); 10 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a "Special Thanks" to: Mr. McCracken's step son, Perry Jenkins, the Veterans Administration, all Richmond County Public Services, and Mr. McCracken's special friends, Helda, Sandy, and Bobby. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009 at 11am in the chapel of DeLoach Funeral Home, Hephzibah. Rev. Mickey Huff will be officiating. Friends and family are asked to share a brief story or memory as part of the service. The family will receive friends following the service at the Blythe Community Center which is located behind Blythe City Hall, 294 Church St. Blythe, Ga.
