Philip Earl White, 91, of Orange County passed away Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at the Dogwood Village of Orange.
Born Oct. 1, 1917, in Culpeper County, he was the son of the late Charlie Philip and Grace Strother White. He also was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank A., Warren M. and Bryant E. White; and a sister, Vivian E. Taylor.
Mr. White was retired from Orange Ford-Mercury and was a life member of the Orange Volunteer Fire Company.
Survivors include his wife, Alma Deane White of Orange; a sister, Ruby W. Shifflett of Orange, and many other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, in the Walker's United Methodist Church cemetery, with the Rev. Allen Follett officiating.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made in his name to Walker's United Methodist Church, 7402 Orange Road, Radiant, Va. 22960.
