"William" Billy Klasen, 29 of rural Brooks, MN died on Monday, July 05, 1999 near Oklee, MN as a result of a single automobile accident. Arrangements with Petterson Funeral home in Oklee.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, July 9, 1999 at 10:30 AM in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee, MN with Father Gary LaMoine Officiating. Burial will be held in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Oklee, MN.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 8, 1999 from 5 – 8 PM with a 6:00 PM prayer service and also one hour prior to services on Friday all at the church.

William Bernard "Billy" Klasen was born March 4, 1970 in Fosston, MN son of William and Annette (Asselin) Klasen. Billy was baptized and confirmed at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. He was raised and attended School in Oklee where he graduated from High School in 1988. That year he began working for Northern Pipeline of Lakeville, MN as an operator, which took him throughout Minnesota, and to the East Coast.

Billy was a member of the Operator Engineers Local 49 and the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and farming.

He is survived by his two children Brandon and Alyssa Klasen of Louisville, TX: mother Annette LaCoursiere (Don) of rural Brooks, MN: sisters Janet Halvorson (Kurt) of Trail, MN and DeeAnn Klasen (Fiancé David Eskeli) of Oklee, MN. One nephew Brent Halvorson and two nieces Michelle and Courtney Halvorson all of Trail, MN. Grandmother Madonna Asselin of S. Milwaukee, WI and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Billy is preceded in death by his father William on October 30, 1987, brother Steven Klasen on January 10, 1993, Paternal grandparents and Maternal grandfather.
