John Henry RICHESON was the son of Susan RUCKER (later the stepson of Elizabeth HILL) and John RICHESON of VA. He was probably born in Amherst Co. His brother Franklin Edward RICHESON always gave Amherst Co. as his own birthplace.

His father and stepmother moved the family from VA to Carroll Co, MO around 1857. There they settled near Bogard and farmed for the rest of their lives.

John married Susan Jane MINNIS on 17 May 1863 in Carroll Co, MO. Like his parents, John and Susan also farmed.

Wife: Susan Jane MINNIS - b: 5 June 1841 in Carroll Co. d: 19 April 1908 in Carroll Co., buried in Braden cemetery in Carroll Co.

John had 13 or 14 known siblings, most of whom stayed in MO. See his parents' Findagrave pages for a list.

Their known children:

1) Robert A. Richeson b. 12 March 1864 in Bogard, MO.

2) Altha A. Richeson b. 1 Dec 1865 in Bogard, MO. D. 25 June 1868 and buried in Braden Cemetery, Coloma, MO.

3) Rosella Richeson b. 25 Dec 1865 in Bogard, MO.

4) Francis Richeson b. abt. 1868 in MO.

5) Lovie Richeson b. 11 Feb 1872 in Bogard, MO. D. 20 Jan 1875 and is buried in Braden Cem.

6) Martha J. Richeson b. 28 April 1875 in Bogard, MO.

7) Samuel C. Richeson b. 1 March 1883 in Bogard, MO. D. 26 Dec 1951 and is buried in the Avalon Cemetery, Chillicothe, MO.

Two of these children were dead by the time of the 1900 census.

Wife: Susan Jane MINNIS RICHESON is also buried in the Braden cemetery near Coloma, in Carroll Co, MO.
