Death Certificate states he was 67yrs 8mos 7days old at the time of his death.

He served in the 5th Texas Calvary, joined at age 19 in San Antonio. He was a POW having been captured April 16, 1863 in Bayou Teche, in what is now St. Mary Parish, and was paroled May 11, 1863. He applied for a Texas Confederate Pension on June 29, 1909.

He arrived in Texas abt 1870 and was married to Sarah Ann Hargrave
