British actor who became known for his roles in the TV-series 'Benny Hill Show'.

Actor. He was best known for acting as a straight man to the comic genius, Benny Hill, on the Benny Hill Show from (1969-1989), which gained an international following. His many film roles included "Seven Days to Noon" (1950), "Sailor Beware" (1956), "The Italian Job" (1969), "The Cherry Picker" (1972), "Digby, the Biggest Dog in the World" (1973), "Aventures of a Taxi Driver" (1976), "Come Play With Me" (1977)," Carry On Emmanuelle" (1978), "Revenge of the Pit" (1978) and "Asterix Conquers America" (1995). His Television appearances included "The Saint" (1966), The Avengers" (1969), "The Benny Hill Show" (1969-1989), "The Goodies" (1971-1973), "Rising Damp" (1975), "Sykes" (1979), "It Ain't Half Hot Mum" (1980) and "Last of the Summer Wine" (2003).
