Maudie M. Bell, 79, of Kincaid died at 5:30 p.m. today, Thursday, October 24, 1968, at St. Vincent Memorial Hospital. She had been in ill health for the past 10 years, and recently returned home after being in the hospital. She was re-admitted to the hospital at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 1968, when her condition suddenly worsened.

Mrs. Bell was born November 8, 1888 in Logan, the daughter of James and Phoeba (Summers) Sanders. She married Clarence Bell on March 17, 1909 in Benton. He preceded her in death on February 21, 1946. Mrs. Bell was a member of Logan Baptist Church in Logan.

Surviving are one son, Noel Sr. (wife, Gladys) Bell of Chicago; one daughter, Mrs. John (Florence) Burke of Kincaid; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, Thomas Edward Sanders, Elva Sanders, Grover Sanders Sr. and Arlie Sanders.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 1968, at Masterson & McManus Funeral Home in Kincaid. Rev. Gary Grey officiated, with burial following in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Phillip Burke, Robert Bell, Damon G. Bell, Jethro Fiaone, William Hager and Ronald Bucshon.
