LAS VEGAS - Blake E. Chastain, 43, died June 7, 2006, in Las Vegas.

He was born Oct. 21, 1962, in Perryton, Texas, the son of Donald and Verona Erhardt Chastain. Formerly of Hutchinson, he lived in Las Vegas and was an automation control engineer. He belonged to the Southern Baptist Church. He served in the Kansas Army National Guard for six years.

On July 5, 1986, he married Diann Chronister in Hutchinson. She survives. Other survivors include: two sons, Adam and Arlen; two daughters, Amanda and Abigail, all of the home; a brother, Don Chastain and his wife, Janet, Hutchinson; and two sisters, Sharon Cannon, Lee's Summit, Mo, and Becky Smith, Hutchinson; Jim Chronister, father-in-law, Hutchinson; and Donna Chronister, mother-in-law, Las Vegas. He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

Funeral will be at 1 pm Wednesday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Willard D. Stafford presiding. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the donor's choice, in care of the funeral home, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
