Bain, Josie Stinson -- Jackson Independent, January 24, 1929
On last Sunday Afternoon, Januiary 20, 1929, the Death Angel visited the home of Mrs. W.A. Gatlin here for the second time in the last few weeks, and carried to her Heavenly Home, Mrs. Josie Stinson Bain, sister of Mrs. M.C. McGinty. Mrs. Bain was born in Jackson Parish on August 6, 1851. She was a member of the Baptist Church which she joined at the age of sixteen.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at 10 o'clock at the Baptist church and interment in the Gansville Cemetery. "None knew her but to love her" can be truthfully said of Mrs. Bain as her beautiful Christian character radiated happiness and sunshine to all who came in contact with her.

She leaves to survive her, her sister Mrs. M.C. McGinty of Jonesboro; nephew, Mr. Cyrus McGinty of Alexandria, and a number of grand nieces and nephews.

A Card of Thanks - We take this means of expressing our sincere appreciation for the many acts of love and kindness shown us during the illness and death of our sister and aunt, Mrs. Josie Bain. Mr. and Mrs. M.C. McGinty, Mr. W.A. Gatlin, Mr. and Mrs. P.B. Zuber and family, Mr. and Mrs. H.M. Gatlin and family.
