Orley Glenn Mingus, III, age 83, of Fairview, Michigan, passed away November 20, 2007 at The Home at AuSable Valley Community.

Funeral: Living Water Lutheran Church, Mio with Pastor Dennis Neigh officiating. Interment at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Saginaw.

Orley Mingus was born to Orley G. and Edna V. (Hollenbeck) Mingus, Sr. on December 22, 1923 and was raised in Lansing, Ml. Orley moved to Saginaw as a boy.

He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army. He fought with General Patton in the Battle of The Bulge and received a Purple Heart.

After his return to the States, Orley married Donna on June 14, 1949. He worked as a lineman for Consumers Power Company, first in Saginaw, and then moved to Fairview in 1964, where he continued working until his retirement in 1979, after 32 years of service. He was a member of Living Water Lutheran Church, a lifetime member of the V.F.W and also the Mio American Legion Post #348.

Mr. Mingus was survived by his children: Carol Ann (Terry) Ruth of Mio, Steve (Pam) Mingus of Comins and Harold (Mary) Mingus of Mio; his sister Joanne (James) Wilkinson of Texas; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Donna, his infant daughter Gail Lee Mingus and his sisters Audrey Doyle and Beverly LaRue.
