First Lieutenant Robert (Bob) S. Byrnes enlisted in the United States Army in 1965 and started a tour in Vietnam on 07/09/1967 Battery A, 3rd. Battalion, 82nd. Artillery 196th. Light Infantry Brigade.
Sadly on 02/09/1968 1st Lt Robert S. Byrnes was killed in action during a firefight while serving as a Forward Observer in Quang Nam Province, near Lo Giang with Company D, 2nd Battalion, 1st Infantry.

Robert is survived by his brother James McCaleb Byrnes and sister in-law Judi L. Byrnes of Carmichael, CA. and his parents are both deceased, Augustus McCaleb (Mac) Byrnes lll & Marion Ellan Byrnes.
Robert was married for just two weeks prior to his death.
He is deeply loved and missed.
