Mr. Carr died November 6, 2002 at Overton County Nursing Home. He was born February 2, 1912 in Overton County to the late Elmer and Deli Carmack Carr. He was a sawmill worker.
He was a member of Holly Springs Church of Christ and a Veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by daughters, Debbie Bilbrey and Teresa Penticuff, both of Livingston, Linda Jackson of Rickman, Charlene Case of Hendersonville, Darlene Carr of Algood, May Arrington of Huntsville, AL, and Amy Byrd of Atlanta, GA; sons, Marvin Carr of Double Springs, AL, Bobby Carr of Hilham, Jimmy Johnson of Oak Ridge, and Andy Byrd of Kingsport; 22 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ann Malone of Goodlettsville and Lela Ogletree of Livingston.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Branson Carr, son, Charlie Edward, Jr., and his parents
