Burial will be in Christ-St. Paul's Episcopal Churchyard, Meggett, SC. Friends may call Monday in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL from 5 to 7.
Mr. Silas was born January 26, 1916 in Adams Run, SC, a son of Silas Sylester and Naomi Bailey Welch. He attended Clemson University and a graduate of the FBI Academy. He is survived by his wife of Charleston, SC; one daughter, Virginia W. Pitts of James Island, SC; two grandchildren; two sisters, Naomi W. Kennedy of Charleston, SC and Elizabeth Ann Huggins of Yonges Island, SC.
