Born in Cresson, PA, a son of the late Jasper J. and Blanche (Mott) Gibson. Mr. Gibson served as a Marine Corp Aviator as a fighter pilot during WWII with Pappy Boyington in 1942 before being assigned to a B-26, VMJ-2 Bomber squadron as a pilot and Commanding Officer flying high priority missions in the Pacific. After leaving the Marine Corp in 1949 he served with the Railroad Police retiring in 1983 as Superintendent for Phila/NY with Amtrak.
He is survived by his son, Donald M. Gibson, Jr. of Exeter, six grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was the father of the late Sharon Compagnone.
