John W. Knisely, 76, of Tuscarora Township, Millerstown, died Friday, December 19, 2008 in The Church of God Home, Carlisle.
He was born December 12, 1932 in Tuscarora Township, to Merle B. and Helen A. (Burd) Knisely and was a dairy farmer with his father.
He was a graduate of Newport High School and attended the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church; was a member of the Oliver Grange #1069, and enjoyed working with the Grange at the Perry County Fair; enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his sister, Joyce E. Kline of Carlisle; a step brother, Blair Goodling of Mt. Pleasant Mills; a step sister, Arlene Yohn of South Carolina.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m., in the David Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with burial in the Newport Cemetery. Viewing will be on Monday from 6-8 p.m., in the funeral home.
