She was born Margaret Mary Brown in Hornell to the late Aloysius and Cunegunda Ferrary Brown. She is survived by one brother Leo.
She was rec'd into the Congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany at St. Elizabeth Motherhouse on Aug. 15, 1942 and professed her final vows on Aug. 16, 1949.
She spent most of her ministry in the field of education, teaching at various schools in New Jersey, New York, Florida, Montana, Mississippi and N. Carolina. From 1990 until her retirement in 2004, Sister Francis Leo served as local minister at St. Francis Residence and St. Elizabeth Intercessory House of Prayer Convent in Tampa, Fla.
Interment took place in St. Bonaventure Cem. in Allegany, NY. See WNY Catholic, p46, December 2008.
