Daniel R. Bruer, age 48, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 30, 2006, at the UW Hospital. He was born on Jan.17, 1958, in Madison, the son of LaDeane (Elmer) Christian and the late Roy Bruer. Daniel attended LaFollette High School, Waukesha Technical College, where he earned an associate's degree in accounting, and Carroll College in Waukesha. He had worked as a cook and a tax preparer. As a child, he played Little League baseball, was an accomplished bowler and an avid chess player, having beat two chess masters, played the saxophone and guitar and was known for his love of music and being a coffee connoisseur. In addition to his mother, Daniel is survived by his son, Daniel (Angie); grandchildren, Rachel and Emily; brothers and sisters, David (Jane) Parsons, Dennis (Mary) Parsons, Scarlett (Robert) Parker; Bonnie (the late Thomas Conway) Parsons, Jane (Jim) Charmelo and Timothy Bruer; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; special partner, Lisa Dellanay; and his close friend, Roger Tesch. He was preceded in death by his father; his paternal grandparents, Oscar and Hazel Bruer; maternal grandparents, David and Elva Loomis; and an infant brother. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 3 p.m., on Thursday, May 4, 2006. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Merrimac.
