The funeral service of Mrs. Charles Lamb, which were held at the church were largely attended by sympathizing friends and neighbors and the floral tributes were many and very beautiful. Slya Ferguson had spent the greater portion of her life in Clay County, having been for the past six years in business in Fostoria, first with F.M. Hansen in the post office and general store and afterwards with Heikens and Tjaden. Everybody in this section of the country knew "Sylva", and it is not too much to say that all who knew her in life feel a sense of personal bereavement in her early death. So young to die--bravely twenty-five with everything to live for, truly: life and death are mysterious things. The remaining members of the family, a mother and three sisters, all residing in or near Fostoria, have the heartfelt sympathy of the community.

Charles H. Lamb and Sylva Ferguson were married on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1910 and she passed away in Colorado Springs, Co on January 8, 1911.
