My great-Aunt Nancy Josephine Brown was born to parents Charles S. Brown(1811-1891) and his second wife Elizabeth Thomas(1814-1864). Nancy was one of four children born to Charles and Elizabeth, two died in infancy. Nancy's sister was Susan Brown(1850-1935) married to John L. Stear. She had 6 step siblings from Charles' first marriage to Jane Kirk: Elizabeth Ann, Mary Alice, William Joseph, John Alexander, Margaret Jane and Martha Malinda.
