Services celebrating her life will be 11 A.M. Monday, April 28, 2003 in J. J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home, visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will be in Illini Cemetery, Warrensburg.
Agnes was born in Gideon, MO. On September 12, 1915 the daughter of John William and Lillian Bell Humes Rutledge. She was a homemaker; a member of the Second Church of God, and Wabash Fellowship Club; originator of Soy City Breakers and C.B. club in 1975, volunteer for the Red Cross, Salvation Army, and an avid Chicago Cub Fan. Agnes was married for nearly 57 years to John Edward Barber, Sr. before he died on February 6, 1988.
Surviving are her daughters: Joan (Don) Pierson of Homosassa, FL.; Elaine "Kay" Stark of Springfield; sons: John (Beverly) Barber Jr. of Decatur; Donald Lee (Kay) Barber of Homosassa, FL.; Richard (Judy) Barber of Decatur; Ray (Gloria) Barber of Orlando, FL.; sister, Dorothy Ellrick of Decatur; grandchildren: Vicki (John) Gulick, Mike (Lisa) Barber, Cathy (Scott) Page, Traci (Mike) Anderson, Todd (Kelly) Barber, Tony (Linda) Barber, Craig (Kelly) Barber, Brad (Catherine) Barber, Jennifer (fiance' Todd Hess) Barber, Donna Jo (Walt) Marlow, Shaun Stark, Steve (Amber) Stark, 24 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Her parents, husband, 3 brothers and 2 sisters preceded her in death.
She loved most in life the time spent with children and grandchildren all of whom will miss her greatly.
