Kathryn Lucille Jones Sweat, 91, of Waycross went to her Heavenly home Saturday afternoon (August 27, 2016).
Lucille, also affectionately known as Mama and Mimi to many, had a glorious Home-going surrounded by her family as they sang church hymns and praised the Lord for a long wonderful life.
She was born in Dupont, GA in Clinch County to the late B.D. and Mattie Register Jones. She lived in Waycross from the age of 16 and graduated from Waycross High School in 1942. Lucille was the epitome of a genuine Southern lady.

Married on June 27, 1945 in Ware County to Marcus Lee Sweat Jr.; with 3 lovely daughters': Mrs. Marcia Sweat Kilmark (Wayne), Mrs. Kathy Sweat Dobson (Charles) and Mrs. Sandy Sweat Haut (Joseph) ..... Grandchildren: Lauren Sweat, Whitney Sweat, Charles M. Dobson II, Jody Haut and Benjamin Joseph Haut
Lucille and her late husband, Probate Judge Marcus Lee Sweat, Jr., were married for 62 years until his death on August 31, 2007. During their marriage, they enjoyed travelling, square dancing, and spending time with family and friends. Their home was a haven to all, especially for friends of their three daughters. She was a devoted homemaker and was involved in several social organizations.
Lucille was a faithful servant and loved the Lord. For over 60 years, she was a very dedicated and active member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the John Wesley Sunday School Class. Her love for piano and music began at an early age in her childhood church, and she played the piano for her adult Sunday School Class for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Women where she was active in the circle groups and always enjoyed hosting groups in her home. In 1976 she helped begin the tradition of making Chrismon ornaments for Christmas trees in the church. Lucille also enjoyed attending the church's Widows and Singles group.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Probate Judge Marcus L. Sweat, Jr. and one brother, B.D. Jones.
Survivors include three daughters,

Kathy Sweat Dobson and her husband Charles of Fernandina Beach, FL,
Sandy Sweat Haut and her husband Joseph of Waycross;
