Mr. Jim Friday, 84, of 509 So. 4th Sr., Crockett, died Thursday, Aug 19, in a local hospital, following a sudden illness.
Mr. Friday, who had lived in Crockett for the past 14 years, was born in Trinity County on March 23, 1887.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Groveton.
Funeral services were held in the Callaway Memorial Chapel at 3 p.m. Saturday, with Rev. Noble Lawrence officiating.
Burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery in Groveton.
Pallbearers were Clifton Reynolds, John Dominy, Frank Towery, John Norsworthy, Robin Nelson and Lynn Reynolds.
Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Jim Friday of Crockett, and several nieces and nephews.
Callaway Funeral Home of Crockett was in charge of arrangements.
