James Allen Chambliss was the sixth child of ten born to James Gray Chambliss & Nancy Bradley (Miers) Chambliss. James Allen married Lucinda Morgan in Marshall County, Mississippi & their first 4 children were born there. Between 1874 & 1880, James A. & Lucinda moved to Delta County, TX where 3 more children were born to them. They made their home near Lake Creek, TX in northern Delta County. Their children were: Henry Henderson, William Franklin, Adria Vianna, Margaret Lucinda, Beatrice, Thomas, & Leo. All the children lived to be grown & married, except Leo, who died age one year and is buried in the Lake Creek cemetery.
