Ramon Eugene Phelps, Sr. age 60 died Monday afternoon at a local hospital. Mr. Phelps attended the Beulah Freewill Baptist Church, was a member of the West Pensacola Masonic Lodge No. 296 F&AM, the VFW Post No. 706, veteran of WWII, and was retired from Civil Service. Survivors include his wife, Cubie L. Phelps of Pensacola; three sons, Ramon E. Phelps, Jr., William L. Phelps, Phillip M. Phelps, all of Pensacola; a daughter Phyllis Kercher, of Pensacola, five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; five sisters, Grace Davis, Lerline Killough, and Trudie Helms of Greenville, Ala., Dollie Newton of Abbeville, Ala., and Mary Elizabeth Cheatham of Pensacola. Burial at the Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.
