She worked at Lincoln Optical owned by Ben and Margie Handelman. Through mutual friends, she met Lewell Cooper while attending a square dance, and they later married on September 26, 1958. They had four children and she assisted her husband Lewell with his construction business.
She enjoyed many craft projects, was a wonderful seamstress and a fantastic cook. Also, from the time she was a young girl, Roberta loved dolls and she had an extensive collection of porcelain or antique dolls and clowns, also miniature porcelain thimbles. She was also a talented artist, and over the years, sketched or painted many pieces of artwork for her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Lewell Cooper; her parents, Earl Floyd Severeid and Anna Mae Jacobs; one sister, Marilyn Fichtner, and two brothers, Ted and Hank Severeid.
She is survived by two brothers, Robert Severeid of Kansas City, Mo., and Ed Severeid of Mission, Kan.; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Lisa Cooper of Lee's Summit, Mo.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Dianna and Jim Scalf of Raymore, Mo., Denise and Kevin Burke of Lee's Summit, Mo., Deborah and Jeff Smoot of Raymore, Mo.; nine grandchildren; one greatgrandchild and many nieces and nephews and cherished friends.
She will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
