F. W. (Woody) Shrum of 2165 Ballard, died 5 Apr 1981, in a local hospital. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, 7 Apr, in Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ed Blythe officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Shrum was born in Honey Grove on 14 Nov 1916, son of John Wheeler Shrum and Mary Mann Shrum. He attended Honey Grove schools and married Miss Dora Shelton, on 23 Nov 1938. He was a longtime resident of Paris and served as parts manager at several automobile dealerships here. He retired as parts manager of Bill Booth Motor Co. in January, 1980. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Bobby (Sheryl) Tanner of Paris and Mrs. B. C. (Emma) Butler of Dallas; one sister, Mrs. Aileen Rowton of Greenville and Ansel Shrum of Arlington and one grandchild, Renee Tanner of Paris.

He was a wonderful father and person. I guess everyone like him. He was a man of great integrity, very honest and trusting man. His motto was "anything worth doing is worth doing right". His word was his bond. He loved fishing, hunting, his small garden, feeding his robins, playing cards, Christmas; but what he really enjoyed was the companionship of his friends and family.
He was named for Pres. Woodrow Wilson.
