The funeral service for Alice D. Thorson, former Albert Lea resident, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea. The Rev. John Holt will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Alice passed away on Nov. 15, 2008. She was a resident of Girlie Manor, Cross Plains, Wis., at the time of her death.
She was born June 25, 1914, in Forest City, Iowa, the daughter of Gust and Ida Hagen. She lived in Iowa and moved with her first husband and family to Albert Lea where she lived until moving to Wisconsin in 1997. Alice was a Gold Star Mother after losing her son, Ron, in the Korean War.

Alice is survived by sons: Alan Lien (Mary) of Spring Green, Wis., and Dan Lien; sister, Anna Mildred Tschirki of Britt, Iowa; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands: Wilford Thorson and Theodore Lien; son, Ronald Lien; daughters: Joan Haines, and infant daughters: Betty and Evelyn; sisters: Gladys Anderson and Violet Tschirki; and a brother, Gordon.
