Born in Manheim Township, he was a son of the late John R. and Mabel F. (Garman) Albright.
Mr. Albright graduated as the Salutatorian of the Class of 1937 from the Codorus Township High School and was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of World War II, serving with the 388th Air Service Squadron. He received the Good Conduct Medal, the Philippines Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star, the Pacific Theatre Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, the America Theatre Ribbon and the Victor Medal.
He was employed with Doubleday and Company as a machinist for over 37 years, retiring in 1985. Preston was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hanover and was a former member of St. Jacob's (Stone) Lutheran Church, Glenville, where he had taught Sunday School, served several terms on the Church Council, was active on several committees and was depended upon for doing many things around the Church.
He was the husband of Helen V. (Rinehart) Albright, with whom he celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on July 12, 2008 and also surviving are a daughter, Christina H. Owens and husband, Preston of Dover; a son, Ivan L. Albright and wife, Rebecca of Wilson, NY; four grandchildren, Benjamin Albright, Jessica Bohlman, Katelyn Owens and Emily Owens; a sister, Velma M. Shearer of Glenville; and nieces and nephews.
Interment was with military rites by the Hanover Allied Veterans Council.
