At 6 ft 11 inches tall during his 30's he was easy to spot in any crowd. Russell was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoying time boating with Janice on the lakes of Oklahoma and Kansas. He worked at Boeing in Wichita for many years and for a manufacturing company in Haven before retirement. He was an active member of the Haven Fire Department and also served with local and state law enforcement. He served in the Haven community on the Tree Board for many years and other community improvement committees. He enjoyed wood working projects and detailed model creations of trucks, fire trucks, tractors and other high quality models. Russell was an active member of the Haven United Methodist Church, where his funeral service was held.
