The Lamar County Echo, July 1978. 'Mrs. A. L. Ailes, 84, of Rt. 1 Pattonville, died Monday July 17, 1978 in a local hospital. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Leverett-Steel-Thomas Funeral Home Chapel with Sister Nadine Bullard and Sister Lillian Abbott officiating. Internment was made in East Delta Cemetery.

Mrs. Bessie Byas Ailes was born April 1, 1894, in Delta County, the daughter of E. S. Byas and Alice English Byas. She married A. L. Ailes on December 19, 1910. she was a member of the Full Gospel Church at Taylortown.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Grady Ailes of Rt. 4, Paris, J. L. Ailes of Rt. 3, Paris, and Billy Joe Ailes of Sulphur Springs; one daughter, Mrs. Lucille Daughtery of Rt. 1, Pattonville; one sister, Mrs. Eva Nelson of Dallas; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were L. D. Malone, Virgil Sugg, Cecil Ruyle, Jimmy Love, Dewey Pickering and Donald Smith'.
