Last Rites Held for Roger Duke
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Minters Chapel Methodist Church for Samuel Roger Duke, 72. Burial was in Minters Chapel Cemetery with J.T. Lucas Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Duke, a retired mechanic, died at his home here Sunday. He was a native of Mississippi and had lived in Grapevine for the past 42 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Mmes. Mildred Forshee of Grapevine and Opal McPhail of Ft. Worth; three sons, James of Ft. Worth, Fred of Irving and Albert Duke of Grapevine; three brothers, Ernest and Mark, both of Ft. Worth, and Ed Duke of California; a sister, Mrs. Mary Hardisty of Ft. Worth and eight grandchildren.
Samuel Roger Duke married Nellie Katherine "Katie" Glenn 3 Oct 1909 Winters, Runnels Co, TX.
