Odris Aldrich, 96, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Shelburne, pastor of Washington Avenue Christian Church, and Roy Wheeler, associate pastor of Hillside Christian Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel, 5400 S. Bell St.

Mrs. Aldrich was born Jan. 30, 1912, in Nocona. She was a member of Washington Avenue Christian Church. Her family pictured her as a perfect example of Tom Brokaw's "Greatest Generation."

Survivors include two sons, John Adams of Henderson, Tenn., and Raymond Julian Adams of Oregon; two daughters, Joanne Adams of Amarillo and Lois Grissom of Henderson; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Washington Avenue Christian Church, building fund, 3800 S. Washington St., Amarillo, TX 79110.
