Carl was the great grandson of Frank Longacre, the third great grandson of Benjamin Longacre, the first Longacre to enter into Missouri, and the sixth great-grandson of Anders Peterson Longacre, born 1657, and Magdalena Cock Longacre, born 1659, the first Longacre's born in America.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. at the Chapel. Mr.Longacre died at the Hovlid Community Care Center following a long illness. He was a resident of Butte County for the last 53 years. He served in the California National Guard from 1942 to 1962. He enjoyed hunting & fishing on the coast. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers & 3 sisters. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, 2 sons & 7 grandchildren. Rev. Rick Cunningham of the 1st. Baptist Church of Gridley officiated. Contributions to the American Cancer Society are suggested by the family.
