U.S. presidential family member. Elizabeth Ann Britton was the daughter of Warren G. Harding, 29th President of the United States, and Nan Britton. She was also the subject of a 1927 book, The President's Daughter, which became a best seller. Following President Harding's death in 1923, Nan Britton publicly claimed that Harding was her three-year-old daughter's father. The Harding family denied the allegation. Elizabeth was raised in Illinois by her maternal grandparents and later moved to Oregon. She lived her life entirely out of the spotlight and refused to speculate publicly on her paternity. In 2015, ten years after her death, DNA testing by her descendants proved that Elizabeth was indeed President Harding's daughter.
